Dear brethren, on Saturday, 26th September 2020, for the historic first time the Virtual meeting of the Regional Grand Lodge of Northern India was held on Zoom app. This substituted, because of the unprecedented pandemic situation in the country, the Half Yearly meeting of the Northern Region for the year 2020.
RW Bro AK Sharma, RW the Regional Grand Master chaired the meeting. As the statistics tell us, total number of 1249 brethren joined the meeting at one time or another. The use of technology brought together this record number of brethren from all over the world.
We had the honour & pleasure of the company of MW Bro Rajeev Ramkrishna Khandelwal, OSM, MW the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India, the Dy GM, the Asst GM and the RGM’s of the Western, Eastern & Southern Regions.
The highlights of the meeting were the Addresses by RW the Regional Grand Master & MW the Grand Master, the presentation of trophies and awards for the year 2019, which was done virtually, and the launching of the new official website of RGLNI by MW the Grand Master.
In his address to the brethren, MW the Grand Master MW Bro Rajeev Ramkrishna Khandelwal OSM, motivated the brethren to stay positive and remain active in these difficult times. He laid emphasis on keeping their optimism and enthusiasm intact. These times will also pass.
RW Bro AK Sharma, RW the Regional Grand Master thanked the brethren for their presence in such large number. He also thanked them for their support and participation in the biggest relief program (NORTHMASON CARES) which the Region has taken up to assist the medical community and to help the distressed on the streets, during this pandemic time, all over the Northern Region. He apprised the brethren about his virtual interactions with the Wor. Masters/Principals and Secretaries/Scribes of each Lodge and Chapter in the Region during the lockdown period.
