It has been observed from our records that some brethren are members of the Higher Degrees –
Holy Royal Arch Chapter, Mark and RAM, but are not members of a Craft Lodge.
We would like to draw your attention to Rule 76 (A) of General Regulations of Royal Arch Masons
of India, as appended below:
“A companion who is exalted upon the qualification of being a Master Mason for four weeks and
upwards in a Craft lodge under the Grand Lodge of India or any other recognized Grand Lodge
resigns from all Craft lodges working under the Grand Lodge of India or his membership in the
Craft lodges ceases for any reason what so ever, he automatically loses all privileges of his
membership in Chapter/s under the Supreme Grand Chapter of India. The same rule shall also
apply to a Joining I Re-joining Companion.”
Likewise, we draw your attention to Rule 110 (C) of the Book of Constitution of Grand Lodge of
Mark Master Masons of India, as appended below:
“A Mark Master Mason who is advanced upon the qualification of being a Master Mason in a
Craft Lodge under the Grand Lodge of India or any other recognised Grand lodge resigns from all
Craft Lodges working under the Grand lodge of India or his membership in the Craft Lodges ceases
for any reason what so ever, he automatically loses all privileges of his membership in Mark
Lodge/s under the Grand lodge of Mark Master Masons of India. The same rule shall also apply
to a Joining I Re-joining Mark Master Mason.”
The brethren who are not members of a Craft Lodge but are members of any higher Degrees as
mentioned above, are advised to join/rejoin any Craft Lodge within 30 days of the issue of this
letter to continue their membership in all the said Orders. Failing compliance will lead to
exclusion from all orders as per Bye-laws enumerated above.
You are requested to read this Circular in the next meeting of your Lodge and circulate it to all
the members of the Lodge for their information.
