Dear Brethren,
We are all well aware of the tough & challenging circumstances which have erupted on the Western border of the country over last few days. These have created wide-spread disturbance in the country. The situation is more serious in the border states of J&K, Punjab and Rajasthan. The cities of Amritsar, Jammu, Jalandhar, Ferozepur and even Chandigarh have been under threat. Considering these threats from across the border the local administrations have put restrictions of movement and are enforcing black-outs in these cities.
We have Lodges in various cities of Punjab and Chandigarh. RW the Regional Grand Master is concerned about the welfare of the brethren and their families in these cities. We at the Region pray that everyone remains well and that the normalcy returns fast. RW the Regional Grand Master advises the members of the Lodges and Chapters in Punjab and Chandigarh to respect the orders of local administrations and fully co-operate with them in maintaining peace, order and harmony.
The Lodges in Punjab and Chandigarh tri-city are exempted from holding meetings of Lodges and Chapters until the return of normalcy in the country and until the next advisory from the Region. In due course they will be instructed about the modalities required for holding the postponed meetings.
The Lodges and Chapters in other cities in the Region should continue holding the meetings till further advice from the Region. They should, however, refrain from having any celebrations. The brethren are advised to stay calm and composed, and conserve energies and finances for any eventuality that the country might face in next few days. We should be prepared to provide assistance to the society in any form in the near future.
The Secretaries/Scribes are advised to circulate this letter to all members of their respective Lodges/Chapters.
